Lucy is very happy with her time after finishing in 4:06:33. Safe to say Lucy will be getting some TLC from the team this week to help with her recovery!

There is a lot of mixed information out there about what you should and shouldn't be doing as a beginner runner and it can be tricky to navigate what is right for you. Our exercise physiologist, Lucy, can assist by writing running and strength programs individualised to your personal needs and goals! Whether you are a trail or road runner, Lucy is your go-to.

Tennis elbow, also known as lateral epicondylitis, is a condition characterized by pain and inflammation on the outside of the elbow. Although the name indicates it is commonly associated with tennis players, it can occur in anyone!Some of the most common causes of tennis elbow include:
- Repetitive arm movements
- Overuse of Forearm Muscles
- Improper Technique or Equipment
- Occupational Factors
- Age and Degenerative Changes
- Sudden Intense ActivitiesWhile these factors are commonly associated with tennis elbow, the condition can develop due to a combination of factors and individual circumstances, where it is important to consult a health professional for diagnosis and developing an appropriate treatment plan.

Meet Neha, our physiotherapist at Botanic Health Services Belair!Neha began her physiotherapy career overseas working in paediatrics and moved to Adelaide in 2013 to gain her Master's degree in Physiotherapy. After spending some time in Adelaide and working across private practice and with sporting teams, she decided to stay.Over this time, Neha has developed extensive knowledge which she uses to consider all facets of health and wellbeing. She has an interest in neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease, stroke, dementia, and headache management, as well as acute and musculoskeletal conditions concerning the knees, ankles, and spine.You can secure a booking with Neha via our online booking portal on our website.

The team braved the chill last weekend at the @trailrunningsa Mt Misery event. Donny ran the short course and we happily provided some ‘gentle’ treatment post-race! (see slide 3) 🏃‍♂️❄️

Not sure what stretches to do after your r

Not sure what stretches to do after your run?Follow along with our exercise physiologist, Lucy, and give these 5 stretches a go!1. Calf stretch - stand near a support, split your feet apart and ensure to keep your back heel on the ground. Bend your front knee, moving your body forwards and hold in the stretch.2. Hamstring stretch - place one leg on a step or bench in front. Keep that leg straight and point your toes to the sky. Bend through the standing leg to feel the stretch further.3. Quad stretch - stand near a support, bend one knee and bring your foot towards your bottom. Using the corresponding hand, hold your ankle there to stretch the quadriceps muscles.4. Glute stretch - lying on your back with both knees bent, bring one leg up and cross your ankle over the other knee. Pull that knee in towards your chest and hold there.5. Hip flexor stretch - starting in a tall kneeling position, bring one leg in front creating a 90 degree angle with your knee. Tilt your pelvis in and engage through your buttocks. Keep your body up tall and hold in this position.Stretching after a run can help to reduce muscle tension and soreness and aid in the recovery process. Try these simple stretches after your next run and see how you feel!
